How to Apply for an AEP in India (eSahaj)

Last updated: 6 Jul 2026Reviewed by Ms. Rubab Nizami, Lead AVSEC Faculty

In short

An Airport Entry Pass is applied for through the BCAS eSahaj portal. Your employer raises the request, you submit identity and background documents, and BCAS processes a security clearance that includes police verification before the pass is issued for the zones your role needs.

Who applies for an AEP — you or your employer?

Your employer raises the AEP request on the eSahaj portal on your behalf; an individual cannot apply directly. You provide the identity, address and background details and documents the portal asks for, and the employer sponsors the application.

What checks are done before an AEP is issued?

BCAS runs a security clearance that includes police (antecedent) verification of the applicant. Once the background check is cleared and documents are verified, the pass is issued for the specific zones the role requires, with a set validity.

Quick answers

Can I apply for an AEP myself?

How long does an AEP take?

It depends on how quickly police verification and document checks are completed.
