Can I Carry a Mercury thermometer on a Flight in India?

In short
You can carry a mercury thermometer in cabin baggage within limits. One small medical mercury thermometer per passenger is allowed in cabin baggage or on the person, inside its protective case, for personal use. Mercury is otherwise restricted because it corrodes aircraft aluminium. Digital and alcohol thermometers have no such limit.
