Can I Carry a Trekking pole on a Flight in India?
Last updated: 7 Jul 2026Reviewed by Ms. Rubab Nizami, Lead AVSEC Faculty
In short
You cannot carry a trekking pole in cabin baggage on Indian flights. Trekking and hiking poles and pointed walking sticks can be used as weapons, so they are not allowed in the cabin — pack them in checked baggage. A genuine medical walking aid needed by the passenger is the only exception and may be allowed in the cabin.
