Tailgating — Tailgating (Access-Control Breach)

Last updated: 6 Jul 2026Reviewed by Ms. Rubab Nizami, Lead AVSEC Faculty

In short

Tailgating is when a person follows an authorised worker through a secure door without their own valid pass or screening. It is a common access-control breach, which is why staff are trained to challenge anyone who is not displaying a valid AEP.
