Can I Carry a Cash & currency on a Flight in India?

In short

You can carry a cash & currency in cabin baggage. Carry cash in cabin baggage, not checked. Indian residents may take out up to ₹25,000 in Indian currency notes. Foreign currency above US$5,000 in banknotes, or US$10,000 including traveller's cheques, must be declared on a Currency Declaration Form at customs.
