Can I Carry a Sweets (mithai) on a Flight in India?

Last updated: 7 Jul 2026Reviewed by Ms. Rubab Nizami, Lead AVSEC Faculty

In short

You can carry a sweets (mithai) in cabin baggage. Dry Indian sweets such as barfi, laddu and kaju katli are allowed freely in cabin and checked baggage. Syrup-based sweets like rasgulla and gulab jamun are treated as liquids, so pack them in checked baggage or keep the syrup under 100ml in the cabin.
