Cabin Baggage vs Checked Baggage — Rules in India

Last updated: 8 Jul 2026Reviewed by Ms. Rubab Nizami, Lead AVSEC Faculty

In short

Cabin (hand) baggage travels with you and faces the 100ml liquids rule and sharp-object limits, but it must hold spare lithium batteries and power banks. Checked baggage goes in the hold with more room for liquids and sharp items, but no spare batteries or power banks. What is banned depends on which bag.
